Hi folks.
After a tip from a certain member, and a little editing, we now have a fairly comprehensive set of guidelines for posting on this forum. Please take a quick look before you post.
1. When first posting a thread, could you please place a 'tag' in brackets to show the rest of the members what game system you are talking about. E.g. (40k) or (WFB). Due to DDL being such a wide and varied club in game standards, this would be helpful to everybody, including us moderators!
2. Please respect the other members of the forum, we don't expect you to agree with everything being posted but please behave respectfully to other board members. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. (flaming/trolling) theses attacks will be extinguished (no pun intended!)
3. No swearing for swearings sake. SHOUTING ALL THE TIME is not acceptable either.
4. Please do not use l33t or text speak of any sort.( If you don't know what this is, so much the better!) Members are expected to use proper sentences with punctuation and capital letters. Anybody using it will have their entire post deleted (We don't all understand it, so we will err on the side of caution).
5. Please use a Spelling checker. It takes 5 seconds to check your posts. From previous experience we have learned that questions to the forum are far more likely to generate a good response if the question has been well thought out and presented. There is a 'Spell Check' button at the bottom of your post.
(alternatively, Google have an Internet toolbar with one built in.....Which can be downloaded for free! http://toolbar.google.com/index_xp.html )
6. Please refrain from posting individual points costs when posting army lists up. For example, it is perfectly acceptable to post the cost of a unit armed with a Lascannon and Plasma gun, but not acceptable to post the separate cost of the unit, the cost of the Lascannon and the cost of the Plasma gun. We do not have time to edit posts like these so the entire list will be deleted if people ignore this.
7. Similarly, please do not post whole statlines. certain stats, such as WS4, are acceptable, but not the whole stats, especially if these are not available on the model owners site (see 8 for our reasons).
8. Please do not ask for the cost (in points, £s are fine) of a particular item or unit from any Codex. It is perfectly acceptable to ask questions about rule interpretations, etc, but you must own the relevant codex/rulebook. We must respect Games Workshops, and other model owners intellectual property. Anybody breaking this will have their post locked.
9. Do not post Army Builder lists direct to the forum as they are very difficult to read and we do not need an explanation of how a Plasma gun works. We do not have time to edit posts like these so the entire list will be deleted if people ignore this.
10. If you are unhappy with a moderator decision, send an email to the admins(phil11032003@hotmail.com OR forthosewhodontgiveatoss@hotmail.com), alternatively send us a private message. Do not post a locked thread again, and do not launch a personal attack on the moderator/s on the forum.
